Of all the rooms in our home, I spend the most time in the kitchen. Between cooking (and cleaning up from cooking) meal times, craft times, coloring at the counter, board games at the kitchen table, and school work, a lot of our day revolves around this much loved room. When we first moved into our home almost four years ago we painted the kitchen a sunny shade of yellow. It was nice for awhile but I was ready for a change.To make our kitchen an even prettier and more comfortable place to live we decided to make a few upgrades. First we added a tile back splash. You can read about that project here. Next, we upgraded two of our light fixtures. And finally we painted the entire room a lovely new shade. So let's get right to the fun part...before and after pictures!

| AFTER We used a tile from Home Depot for the backspash  Jeffrey Court Trarvetino I absolutely LOVE the paint color we choice. It is so calming and it ties together the black countertops and the more earth tone tile perfectly. The color is Behr Garden Wall.  The light fixtures are from Lowes and I love them more every time I turn the lights on! (Can you tell I'm a little excited about this project!)  Allen + Roth Edison Island Light Now I have lots of pictures of the finished room to show you! With the new color I am now feeling inspired to add a little pop of red to the space! Maybe over the pantry door, what do you think? |
Your mini kitchen makeover is outstanding! I love the new paint as well as the light fixture. I'd like to do my own tile back splash in the kitchen. It makes a big difference.

ReplyDeleteStacy, you should definitely do the tile! It was such an easy and inexpensive project and it made a huge difference in the look and feel of the kitchen!
